The Town Clerk has many functions which are regulated by Massachusetts General Laws and Town By-laws.
The Town Clerk is the keeper of town records and responsible for maintaining records including but not limited to all town actions, vital records, voter records, licenses, permits, appointments and oaths to name a few.
The Town Clerk is the chief election official for the town responsible for the conduct of local, state and federal elections; administration of voter registration and local census.
Justice of the Peace services are offered during Town Clerk Office Hours.
Records Access Officers (RAO) have been assigned to coordinate and respond to requests for Public Records.
Town Clerk does not collect property tax or excise tax – those taxes go through the Tax Collector’s office.
