Transfer Station bags are available for sale (ten bags for $20) in the Town Administrator’s office, 3 South Main Street, the Petersham Package Store, and the Petersham Memorial Library.

Loose Refuse Fees and Information

Recycling at the Transfer Station Shed: packing peanuts/bubble wrap are no longer accepted for recycling. Rechargeable batteries ( not regular lead) must be placed in the designated box at the town offices.

Swap Shop

Swap Shop (open year-round during transfer station hours): Free give/take of reusable, good quality items, home goods, and furnishings in working condition. (No CD’s/VHS tapes, please in the swap shop, but we do accept them as trash)

Example: Books, furniture, housewares, medical equipment, small working appliances, toys, anything usable and in good shape.

Petersham residents have access to a Household Hazardous Waste Collection at Orange Transfer Station in the Fall. Pre-registration is required. For specifics, including date/time, see below.
